RADIO NEW ZEALAND: New Zealand's largest public sector union is asking major television networks to hold live debates between Prime Minister Helen Clark and National Party leader John Key on the future of public services.
The Public Service Association has written to Television New Zealand and TV3 asking that the debates be included in their election coverage.
The union argues that National's planned tax cuts will erode public services, including rail and ferry services now that they are back in public ownership.
