Fine day for Election day - forecaster

RADIO NEW ZEALAND: MetService is predicting a sunny day as the country heads to the polls on Saturday.

Meteorologist Bob McDavitt says an anticyclone will be centred over New Zealand, bringing clear skies and light winds.

However, early voters in the South Island and central North Island will face a frosty start to the day, he says.

The good weather is not predicted to last - wind and rain are forecast from Monday.
